Ann Francis Obituary, Death – Ann Francis, club Vice President and Honorary Life Member, passed away at the age of 85. It is with a profound sense of personal grief that I share the news of her passing with you at this time. In 1960, Ann Francis married Tom Francis, and in the years that followed, she remained a member of the club and remained in constant contact with its members. Even though Ann is not a huge follower of sports, she has shown Tom a lot of support throughout his time as Club Chairman for 27 years and Club President for 15 years.
In the 1980s, Ann was an active member of the club and participated in its various social and fundraising events, such as assisting with the organization of President’s Days and the Cambridge visits. Ann also helped raise money for the club’s charitable causes. Over the course of more than forty years, Ann has been a dependable member of the tea shift rotation. Two of Ann’s sons, Christopher and Graham, as well as two of Ann’s grandchildren, played senior cricket for the club. Ann also coached two of her granddaughters. There were a total of six grandchildren in Ann’s family. (Daniel and Rebecca).
A fall that Ann suffered at the beginning of January was the culmination of a steady decline in her health that had been going on for the preceding three months prior to the incident. Ann left in a tranquil and composed manner on the evening of Easter Sunday (the Sunday after Easter). The details of the funeral will be communicated to those who are interested at the right time.
