Arthur Sombrowski Obituary, Death – At the age of 82, Fernie resident Arthur J. Kamrowski Jr. died away at the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence in Muskegon on Thursday, November 14, 2019. On October 9, 1937, he was brought into the world by his parents, Arthur and Myrtle (Witt) Kamrowski, who resided in Chicago. In 1955, Art received his diploma from Shelby High School and continued his education at Michigan State University. Between the years of 1957 and 1967, he was a member of the United States Navy and served aboard the USS Enterprise. He was a renowned combat veteran who served in Vietnam and had received many honors and decorations for his service. While stationed in Bethesda, Maryland, Art first met the woman who would later become his wife, Judith (Perry).
His professional life as a civilian worker was mostly focused on nuclear sites located all throughout the United States. Art was a member for life of VFW Post 6842 and he served in the Honor Guard of the American Legion and the Order of the Cootie of the United States (Pup Tent #14). He is survived by his sons, Kevin Kamrowski (and his wife Lisa) of Florida, and Michael Kamrowski (and his wife Yvonne) of Washington; granddaughters Rachel, Marissa,
Laura, and the twins Abigail and Elizabeth; five great-grandchildren; brother Dennis Kamrowski (and his wife Erma) of New Era; and sister Kathy Koehl (and her husband Michael) of St. Charles, Illinois. Numerous nieces and nephews, as well as her closest friend Janice Dowling, survive her. His devoted wife, Judith, as well as his sister, Myrtle (Miki) Nilsson, passed away before he did.
