Billy Meyer Death, Obituary – A deadly collision occurred in Lee County on Friday night about 9:30 p.m., involving three vehicles and a motorcycle. The accident resulted in the death of one person. There were four people involved in the crash. The information that was provided by the Florida Highway Patrol indicates that the collision that involving three vehicles and a motorcycle resulted in the death of a citizen of Fort Myers who was riding the motorcycle at the time of the incident.
On Ben Hill Griffin Parkway, traffic was moving northbound, and a sedan was visible in the left turning lane, where it appeared to be attempting to make a left turn. During all of this, there was a biker traveling south on Ben Hill Griffin Parkway. He was in the lane that is furthest to the right. It wasn’t far now till he reached Gulf Center Drive.
On Gulf Center Drive, the inside lane was taken up by a sports car that appeared to be in the process of preparing to make a turn onto Ben Hill Griffin Parkway from the northbound direction. In addition to that, a man in his 20s who was driving a different vehicle and was stopped in Venice was also a target of the police. He was holding his position in the inside turning lane of Gulf Center Drive in order to make the turn onto Ben Hill Griffin Parkway heading in the northern direction.
Because the first sedan made a left turn in front of the motorcycle, it was responsible for the accident that occurred between the motorcycle and the front of the first sedan. After the initial incident, the motorcycle crashed into the front of the sports car, and then debris from the first accident caused the front of the second sedan to crash down.
At the scene of the accident, the forty-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced dead after being severed from his motorcycle and found to be unresponsive.
The investigation into what caused the crash is still ongoing at this time.
