Craig Fleming Obituary – At the age of 55, Thomas Craig Fleming, the devoted spouse of Jenifer Bates Fleming of Griffin Farm Road, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at the AnMed Health Center. Jenifer Bates Fleming will miss her husband dearly. He was the son of Thomas Charlie Fleming and Nancy Sharpe Fleming, both of whom had passed away before he was born in Anderson County. He was involved in the Men’s Group at Trinity United Methodist Church, where he was a member and attendee. Previously, he ministered as the pre-worship music minister at Bethany World Outreach Center. He had completed his high school education at BHP in 1985 and received an Associate of Arts degree from Tri-County Technical College. As the manager of the Belton CVS Pharmacy, he was responsible for providing a warm welcome to each customer who came through the doors.
He enjoyed traveling to the beach and basking in the warmth of the sun. In addition, he was a member of the Electric City Shag Club and worked there as a DJ. He and Jenifer could frequently be observed “cutting a rug” (also known as dancing the Shag, the official state dance) on the dance floor during their vacations at the beach. In addition to that, he was a huge admirer of music, and he channeled his enthusiasm for the genre into a side gig as a DJ at events such as beach parties, weddings, and family get-togethers. In addition to that, he was a huge South Carolina Gamecocks fan and collected memorabilia from his all-time favorite team.
Surviving are his wife of the home, a sister, Lisa Howell (Russ) of Honea Path, niece, Danielle Allen (Candace) of Williamston, father and mother-in-law, Bill and Jane Bates of Honea Path, brother-in-law Gil Bates (Kelly Jo) of Rockey Top, TN, and brother-in-law Greg Bates (Casey) of Honea Path, and 36 nieces and nephews, and 28 great-nieces and great-nephews. The Reverend Rickey Knight, the Reverend Chris Arries, and the Reverend Gil Bates will preside at his celebration of life, which will take place on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 4 o’clock in the afternoon at Trinity United Methodist Church. Prior to the funeral service on Tuesday, the family will hold a visitation in the social hall of Trinity United Methodist Church from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. After the service, the burial will take place in the Garden of Memories. Everyone in the family has gathered there.
