Deana Deetscreek Death, Obituary, Funeral – Deana Mae (Day) Hoffman passed away on February 27, 2023 at the age of 87. She had formerly resided in Medford. She was born in Cleveland Township, Taylor County, on May 22, 1935. Her parents, Dean Day and Doris (Williams) Day, both passed away before her birth. She attended Hannibal High School and spent her childhood working on the farm her parents own. On May 21st, 1955, she tied the knot with Elwood G. “El” Hoffman. He passed away on January 9, 2014, three days before she did.
After finishing high school, Deana went to Eau Claire to get her cosmetology education. She was employed in the beauty industry for a considerable amount of time. Because of El’s job, they had to move around to a number of different cities and villages around the state of Wisconsin. Deana played the piano for the family band, which consisted of four members, while the couple’s children were in their teenage years. They were hired to perform at weddings as well as other events.’
After the children had reached adulthood, El’s job brought the family to the state of Alaska. Deana received her bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Alaska – Fairbanks, which she attended when she was residing in Alaska. After El’s retirement, the couple uprooted their lives and settled in Arizona, where Deana pursued a career in social work for a number of years. After they retired, they spent the summers in Wisconsin, and during that time they never failed to pay at least a couple of trips to the family farm where Deana had spent her childhood.
Yard sales were a favourite activity of both Deana and El, who were always on the lookout for the ideal piece to complement their abodes. While browsing yard sales, Deana made sure to keep a sharp eye out for the perfect piece of jewellery to add to her collection. Throughout her life, Deana took pleasure in spending time with her loved ones and had a lot of fun making other people laugh with her quick wit and sense of humour.
She is survived by her children, Sandra J. Hoffman of Dewey, Arizona, and Paul D. Hoffman of Malibu, California; a granddaughter named Halley; a sister-in-law named Priscilla M. (Emry) Day; and her nieces and nephews. She passed away on April 15, 2019.
