Deana Eckert Obituary, Death – The city’s police department has verified that a fifth person has lost their life as a result of the mass shooting that took place on Monday at a bank in downtown Louisville. In a tweet that was sent out shortly after 9 o’clock in the evening, the Louisville Metro Police Department identified the victim as Deana Eckert, who was 57 years old. According to the profiles Eckert maintains across several social media platforms, she worked as an executive administrative officer at the Old National Bank, which was the location of the incident. Earlier in the day, authorities discovered the bodies of four additional victims, all of whom worked for the bank. Joshua Barrick, age 40, Thomas Elliott, age 63, Juliana Farmer, age 57, and James Tutt, age 64, have been named as the victims by the police. Andy Beshear, the Governor of Kentucky, counted Elliott as a close personal friend.
At a press conference held at three in the afternoon, LMPD Chief Jacquelyn Gwinn-Villaroel stated that the incident resulted in the injuries of a total of eight other people, including three law enforcement personnel. Officer Nickolas Wilt, 26, is still in serious condition after undergoing emergency surgery at the University of Louisville Hospital. He was shot in the head when responding to the incident and was shot in the head while responding to the scene. Dr. Jason W. Smith stated that there were a total of five individuals who required treatment for gunshot wounds as a result of this shooting. After being shot by officers who responded to the site, the attacker took his own life and died at the scene. The perpetrator of the shooting, according to the police, was a 25-year-old man named Connor Sturgeon who had worked at the bank. The motive for Sturgeon’s attack has not been made public by the authorities; however, they have stated that he broadcast the shooting live on social media and used a rifle throughout the incident.
