Franklin Wilhelms Obituary, Death – Franklin J. Wilhelms, who was 91 years old when he passed away on April 11, 2023, passed away tranquilly at home with his family at his side. He was the son of Edward and Gertrude (Meyer) Wilhelms and was born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin on September 23, 1931. At St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, on September 15, 1956, he tied the knot with Joanne Harkins.
Frank was a Marine who served his country from 1951 to 1954 and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was awarded the United Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and The Ambassador for Peace Korean War Medal for his service in the Korean Conflict. He also achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class. He had been a member of Eagles Aries #270 for the previous 50 years, served as president of the club, and was also on the board of trustees. He was a member of the American Legion Post #75 as well as the VFW.
Frank had a tremendous deal of affection for all of his offspring, including his children, grandkids, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He delighted in outdoor activities like as hunting and fishing, as well as time spent with his comrades and his family. He was the kind of person who was always eager to help out. He retired from Jack Twohig Floor Covering in 1999 after a long career there. After that, he took a job working beside his son-in-law. As he used to affectionately refer to us, he leaves behind “3 brats and a boy” as his descendants.
Timothy Wilhelms and his wife, Yvette; three daughters, Deborah Wilhelms and her fiance, Dennis; Lori Heisler and John Williams; grandchildren Joseph (Amy), Rebecca, Heidi, Keith (Fiancée Krystle), Katie (Kris), Tyler (Siera), Michael (Fiancée Crystal), and Lane; great-grandchildren Ashley, Brennan, Ya’Liez, Dimitri II, La’Verne III, Matthew, William, Nicholas, Claire, and Li In addition, he is survived by his sister, Mary Ann (Joe) Wiocek, as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
His devoted wife Joanne, who passed away in the year 2020, his great-granddaughter Violet, his parents, his grandparents, seven of his sisters, and four of his brothers all died before he did.
