Gary Gorilla Missing, The search for a giant gorilla statue worth £3,000 that was taken from a garden center continues after a similar statue was seen on a highway a week ago. A month ago, the eight-foot tall decoration made of fiberglass and known as Gary the Gorilla was taken from Reynard Nursery in Carluke, which is located in the county of Lanarkshire. Two individuals were seen on surveillance footage taking the statue’s bolts out before a vehicle came only a few hours later to remove Gary from the property. The previous week, photographs of a gorilla statue being hauled on a trailer on the M25 and the M40 close to Warwick were provided to the proprietor Andrew Scott.
However, after further investigation, the police have determined that the sighting was a hoax and that the statue was not indeed one of Gary’s “brothers.” On March 19, security footage indicated that Gary was taken from the front of the Reynard Nursery in the middle of the night. A car was seen pulling up to the nursery at around 10:30 p.m. on the surveillance footage, and its occupants got out of the car before unbolting the ornament. After waiting for close to two hours, a vehicle eventually arrived, and Gary was loaded inside and driven away. On that dark and stormy night, Mr. Scott said, “We saw him disappear into the darkness, and to this day, we have not seen him again.”
According to the evidence that we have, the kidnapping seemed to be very well organized; nonetheless, we are unable to determine who was responsible for the kidnapping. The theft of the statue prompted the police to open an inquiry; nevertheless, it would seem that they have not identified any promising clues. Mr. Scott held out hope that a break in the case would come about as a result of a gigantic gorilla monument that was seen on roads throughout England the previous week. The police were also able to trace the travels of the gorilla by utilizing the registration plate of the car. Officers were able to ascertain that the gorilla ornament was not Gary by mapping out the movements of the gorilla that had been seen on highways.
According to Mr. Scott, “It relocated from London to Whitehaven in the county of Cumbria.” To make matters worse, it’s not Gary; rather, it’s one of Gary’s other siblings. As a result, we feel a little let down since we had such high hopes that it would turn out to be him. “Gary comes from a family that is quite large; the number of brothers he has is a mystery to us at this point, but we are investigating the matter so that we can find out.”
