Gwendoline Amsrala Death, Obituary – Gwen passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at the age of 94 and with her family at her side. Gwen is survived by her children Dianne, Wenda (Doug), Roy (Jennifer), and Sharon (Kim); in addition to an extensive number of nieces and nephews. She had six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished deeply as her own. Her husband, who was also her best friend, Harold Hubick, as well as her sons Joseph and Barrie Klotz, and her stepson Donnie Hubick all passed away before she did.
Gwen was the only member of her immediate family to have survived, as her parents, LeRoy and Gladys Shook, as well as her brother Joe and her five sisters, Bernice, Lorene, Yvonne, Erla, and Opal, had all passed away before her. Gwen enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including gardening, going camping and traveling, playing cribbage, and seeing her grandchildren play ringette and hockey.
She had a talent for cooking and worked for a number of years in the catering department at Empringham’s before moving on to the returns department at Sears. She was a strong woman who put in a lot of effort, but she was also someone who enjoyed relaxing by watching her favorite soap operas, listening to old country music, going to casinos, dancing, and generally having a wonderful time. She will be greatly missed, and we will fondly remember her always and forever.
In September, we will be holding a Celebration of Life for you; more information will be provided later. In lieu of flowers, the Alzheimer’s Society, located at 2550 12th Avenue, Regina, Saskatchewan S4P 3X1, is accepting donations in Gwen’s memory from anybody who would like to do so.
