Janet Roderiques Obituary, Death – Recent events may bring back memories for some of you of our participation in the hunt for a woman who went missing from Dartmouth. Even though every attempt was made to find her, she was discovered lifeless at Buttonwood Park in New Bedford, and her family was given the heartbreaking news that she had passed tragically.
Sonyia Roderiques has requested that this touching message be made available to all of you as a means of expressing her gratitude for the incredible amount of support that her family has gotten in the wake of the devastating news of the demise of her mother. During this trying time, the Roderiques family is in the thoughts and prayers of everyone here at Christian Brothers University.
Hello to all of you! Since this whole incident began with my mother, Janet Roderiques, you may have noticed that I have been rather absent from Facebook. It has been a really overwhelming experience. However, the love and support that everyone has shown has not gone unappreciated. Because I would stay here for months if I tried to communicate with each and every person personally, it is impossible for me to do so.
I would want to express my gratitude to everyone—my family, my friends, and even total strangers—who has helped in the hunt for my mother by sharing the posts about her disappearance on social media. We would want to express our gratitude to the Dartmouth Police Department, the New Bedford Police Department, and everyone who reads New Bedford Guide and helped us seek for this individual.
We are grateful to whoever located her and reported her missing to the authorities. I would like to express my gratitude to the kind-hearted customer at Marshall’s who overheard a phone call and volunteered to pay for my mother’s funeral attire. During the most difficult time of my life, my family, friends, and the entirety of the community rallied together to show me that there are still wonderful and kind people in this world. I want to express my gratitude to everyone who has reached out to my family and me.
