John Daniel Obituary, Death – On February 7, 2023, John J. Daniel, who was 86 years old and lived in Abilene, passed away and went to his eternal home in paradise. On December 27, 1936, John Daniel was born in Abilene to his parents, Aurora and Fructoso Daniel. Before taking his retirement, he was employed by M System and United Supermarket for a number of years. At work, where he was very dedicated, people were his greatest interest and passion. It was in 1978 when he first met and later wed Bennie Ruth Brazil; theirs was a happy marriage that lasted for more than 44 years. John was well-known for his participation in a Christian band known as Los Samaritanos. In this band, he played alongside his siblings and nephews while traveling from state to state.
John’s passing was preceded by that of both of his parents, as well as his wife and three of his brothers: Camilo, David, and Danny. His children, Joe Daniel and wife Yolanda, Sarah Cortez and husband Manuel Sr., Mike Daniel and wife Karlene, and Theresa Gonzales and husband Johnny, are the ones who will carry on his legacy after he has passed away. Mike Evelyn Raughton, R.B. and Benson Wagley, and Cynthia Benson Wagley, Evelyn’s spouse. Sisters, Ester Gomez. Becky Silguero and her husband Andres, Lidia Gonzales, and Ruth Guerrero and her husband Raymond were also there. Both Noe and Eliseo, along with their respective wives, Minnie and Janie, are brothers. There are also a large number of nieces and nephews in addition to the 15 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
The Hamil Family Funeral Home, located at 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd., will be hosting a visitation on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 6 to 8 o’clock in the evening. On Saturday, February 11, 2023, at nine in the morning, funeral services will be place at The Hamil Family Funeral Home. The Reverend Pecina will preside over the ceremony. After the service, burial will take place in Elmwood Memorial Park, which is located at 5750 Hwy 277-South. The family of John would want to express their gratitude to everyone at The Oaks at Radford Hills Nursing Home for their care and support.
