John Lanctot Obituary, Death – John W. Lanctot, 65, of Brighton Twp., died on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, of natural causes at his home. He was born on March 9, 1958, in Rochester to John K. Lanctot and Jane Brew Lanctot Colwell, both of whom have now passed away. John managed two popular eateries in his hometown: Lance’s Port & Pub and Soup-Herb Sproutz. He was also quite involved with the Lions Club in Little Beaver. The stories Lanceman said were all real. Everyone he ever met adored him. He personified the work-hard, play-hard ethos as a successful businessman. He was a golfing fanatic who relished every opportunity to hit the links with his “bestest” pals.
Being outside in the sunshine, listening to music beside his pool, was his idea of a perfect day. His grandkids, whom he loved more than anything else in the world, called him “PopPop,” while his children called him “Pops.” You wanted to be in his company because you knew you would have a good time and feel his contagious enthusiasm.
Tina L. May Lanctot, his wife of 34 years, his children Curt (Hannah) Lanctot and Julie (Ryan) Arena, his sister Joan Lanctot, and his adored grandkids Nolan and Aria Arena and Paxton Lanctot will mourn him dearly.
John’s sister, Julie Lanctot, and stepfather, Robert O. Colwell, both predeceased him along with his parents.
