Ken Block Cause of Death, Obituary – Until his untimely death on January 2, 2023, Kenneth Paul Block (born on November 21, 1967) was a professional rally driver with the Hoonigan Racing Division, previously the Monster World Rally Team. Block also helped start DC Shoes among several other people. He was also a serious competitor in the worlds of skating, snowboarding, and motocross. Block sold DC Shoes and is now focusing on his other company, Hoonigan Industries, which makes gear for car fans. Before his untimely death in a snowmobile accident in January 2023, he was a co-owner and the “Head Hoonigan In Charge” (HHIC) of the business.
A brief segment featuring Ken Block and Jonny Lieberman aired on the MotorTrend program Ignition. His appearance served as advertising for the 2017 Ford Raptor. Block also had an appearance on BBC’s Top Gear, when he was shown cruising around London in a Hoonicorn. He has raced against Lia Block in Hoonicorn vs. the world, a series on the Hoonigan YouTube Channel, and has been featured on the Daliy Driven Exotics vlog. Ken Block, 55, perished in a snowmobile accident close to his property in Woodland, Utah, on January 2, 2023.
According to the sheriff’s office in Wasatch County, Block’s snowmobile flipped over on a steep hill when he was riding near Mill Hollow. At the scene of the collision, authorities pronounced Block deceased. In 2023, the World Rally Championship will commemorate him by retiring the number 43 in recognition of his achievements. Hoonigan issued a statement on Instagram saying, “With heavy hearts, we must confirm the passing of Ken Block, who was killed in a snowmobile accident earlier today. Ken was an innovator, a trendsetter, and a true leader. In addition, he is a dedicated parent and spouse. We shall miss him dearly.
