Mark Gibson Obituary, Death – On April 4, 2023, the world said its final goodbye to an extraordinary family member who was a fantastic father, son, dedicated spouse, and all-around excellent man. His passing occurred on that day. Emmett, Idaho was home for Mark Evan Gibson, who lived to be 62 years old and was the son of James Gibson and Zilpha Gibson.
Mark attended California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resource Management. He is currently working in the field. Mark’s entire life has been spent in the Granada Hills community. Mark started off in the Monterey County Parks Department, and then went on to the California State Parks Department later on in his career.
He entered retirement in 2012 and moved to Idaho with the goal of spending his free time outdoors hunting, fishing, and assisting his son’s baseball team. He also had the purpose of spending time with his grandchildren. Mark’s tenure with the Citizens Against Poaching (CAP) program at the Idaho Department of Fish and Game spanned the years 2015 through 2022, during which time he held the position of Southwest Region Director.
His wife and children will inherit his thorough awareness of the natural world as well as his passion for it. He will also pass on his enthusiasm for this subject. People who knew him will always remember the time he spent as a coach for the kids’ soccer and baseball teams, as well as the time he spent as an active fisherman and hunter. These are the kinds of experiences that will be with them for the rest of their lives.
His family was very important to him, and he took great pride in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. Mark has always had a profound affinity for canines. Over the past few years, he and Julie have been raising Jack Russell Terriers, and Mark has a particular fondness for these dogs. His favorite sport was baseball, and one of his best memories was watching his son Connor develop into a collegiate pitcher. Baseball was one of his favorite sports.
