Merle Simmons Obituary, Death – This is one of our blogs that brings the most sorrow. In the past week or so, approximately, two long-time members have passed away. Merle Simmons, who had been a member of the club for a very long time, served on the Board in the past, was a great supporter of the club, and had played a lot of rounds throughout the course of his life, passed away yesterday.
It caught everyone off guard, even myself. During the previous ten years, despite the fact that he did not shoot, he was a consistent presence at each pancake breakfast and fish fry. Merle was the most peaceful, kind, and loving man imaginable, and he will be missed terribly. The personification of Santa Claus, intended to serve as a memory to people who may have met him but were unable to get to know him very well.
His devoted wife Pat, his sister Marilyn, and the rest of the Simmons family are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Roger Clark, a former President of the club who had been a dedicated supporter of the club for many years, also passed away. Before Roger went out of state, he was a regular at the club, where he would spend countless hours.
In addition to being involved in a wide variety of other initiatives, Roger was responsible for the majority of the club’s electrical upgrades. Once more, please pray for love and support for his wife, Diane, who is also well known by many people at the club.
