Michael Irvin Death, Obituary – Michael R. Irvin, 62 years old, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2007, at the James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital in Tampa. He was a resident of Bartow. Although Mr. Irvin was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida, he has called Bartow, Florida, his home for the past almost two decades. Mr. Irvin was a member of the United States Marine Corps throughout the whole of the Vietnam War, and he continued to serve in that capacity right up to the day he passed away. The saber was never actually sheathed by him.
He was true to form in that he wanted competence, accuracy, and attention in all areas, the most notable of which were his wife’s cooking, his daughter’s schoolwork, the family’s cell phone minutes, and the feeding schedule for the dog. He also insisted that his wife cook for him every night. He leaves behind a family that will never forget his presence, the lessons he taught them, or the love he had for his country, and he also leaves behind a refrigerator that is well organized. He leaves behind a legacy of being prepared for hurricanes, of having a refrigerator that is well organized. Semper Fi.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Pamela Irvin, who now resides in Bartow; his daughter, Amanda Irvin, who currently resides in Orlando; his sister, Janice Blanchard, who currently resides in St. Petersburg; and two nieces named Kimberly Henson and Deanna Nieves, all of whom currently reside in St. Petersburg.
The funeral services that will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2007, at 10:00 am will take place at Saint Thomas Catholic Church, which can be found in Bartow at 2180 S. Kissingen Ave. The burial will take place on Monday, April 23, 2007, at the Florida National Cemetery located in Bushnell, Florida. Donations in memory of Michael R. Irvin may be given to the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation and mailed to the following address: P.O. Box 3008 Princeton, New York 08543 (please indicate that the donation is in honor of Michael R.
