Five people perished Wednesday morning in Glen Allen, a town in central Bollinger County, Southeast Missouri.
Eight more Glen Allen tornado victims are hospitalized, according to law enforcement. A social media user requested prayers for Michael Mccoy after yesterday’s tragedy. “Pray for Michael McCoy Jr. He was critically injured in Glen Allen’s tornado last night and needs prayers. Sikeston resident Destinee Nicole Koenig, 16, died in Glen Allen, Missouri, on April 5, 2023. Tucker and Amanda (Shipley) Koenig had her in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, on December 7, 2006. Destinee was a 10th-grader at New Madrid High School. She adored kittens and dogs. She treasured her family and friends. Her phone was constantly ready for selfies.
Her selfie encompassed everyone around her. She loved “squish-mellows” and The Nightmare Before Christmas. Destinee loved Michael McCoy. They died together. Her parents, Tucker Koenig of Doniphan, Missouri, and Amanda Ellis of Sikeston, Missouri, her siblings, Atticus Koenig of Jackson, Missouri, and Sophia Koenig of Bon Terre, Missouri, her paternal grandfather, David (Tracy) Shipley, and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends survive her. Her grandparents, Larry Koenig and Susan (Glenn Burcks) Sullivan, died.
Destinee, her grandmother Susan, and her cousin James died in a tornado on April 5, 2023. At the Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, Missouri, Susan, James, and Destinee will be memorialized and buried on April 10, 2023. 11:00 AM–2:00 PM.
