Oscar Martinez Obituary, Death – On Wednesday, September 21, 2022, Oscar passed away in his house while he was surrounded by his family and friends. He was summoned to his heavenly home. On June 10, 1954, he was born in Nixon to parents named Antonio and Ella Martinez. He attended Academy High School and graduated there. He met the woman who would become the love of his life, Sandra White, while he was a student at that institution, and they were married on August 13, 1973. Damon and Jason are the names of Oscar and Sandra’s two sons. Camping, snow skiing, water skiing, dominoes, fishing, and everything else that could be done outside were among Oscar and his family’s favorite activities. He had an unwavering devotion to his family, which extended all the way down to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Oscar had been a member of the Taylor’s Valley Baptist Church for a very long period, and during that time he had held the positions of Deacon and Greeter there. As a greeter, he met everyone who came through the doors of Taylor’s Valley using the gift of compassion and friendliness that God had given him. After being diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in 2019, he decided to end his career at Academy Independent School District. He possessed all of the characteristics of a Bumblebee. He thought of the staff and students of Academy ISD as members of his family. Oscar showed affection to each and every person. Trying to live his life in accordance with one of his most treasured biblical texts. “I offer you a new order that you are to love one another. During the 35 months that Oscar fought against AML, he was treated by medical professionals at both Scott & White and MD Anderson. Our family would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to each and every one of those healthcare workers. We would not have been granted the priceless time we spent with him had it not been for their efforts and the grace of God. Surviving members of his family include his wife of 49 years, Sandra Martinez, two sons and their wives, Damon and Tonya Martinez and Jason and Michelle Martinez, one brother and his wife, Kelly Martinez and Jennifer, one sister Adel Vriseno and husband Raymond, and Norma Terry, four grandchildren, Madison Martinez, Cody Martinez, Sophie Martinez, and Olivia Martinez, and two great grandchildren, Emma Rose and Mia Mae. He is also survived by his wife of 49 years, Sandra Martinez. In addition to that, he is survived by his wife’s mother, Billie White.
