Raymond Desy Obituary, Death – Raymond J. Desy, who resided on St. George Road in Brimfield and was 96 years old, passed away at his home on April 5, 2023. Dawn V. (Barrett) Desy, who had been his wife for 58 years and passed away in 2017, came before him in death. Mark O. Desy and his wife Kimberly of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Steve B.J. Desy and his wife Susan of Brimfield are his surviving sons.
He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Bryce (Aemilia), Graydon, Louis, and Joseph Desy, as well as a large number of nieces and nephews. His three brothers, Raoul Desy, Owen Desy, and Francis “Mickey” Desy, as well as his three sisters, Arlene Latour, Rita Marcotte, and Doris Nankervis, all passed away before him. He was the son of the late Louis R. and Bertha (Gervais) Desy and was born in Worcester. Prior to coming to Brimfield in 2006, he resided in Oxford. His parents passed away.
Mr. Desy worked as a mechanic for more than seven decades in a variety of businesses; his most recent position was as a ten-year employee at New England Frozen Foods in Westborough, from which he retired in 1992. Over the course of more than 40 years, he was an active member of the Teamsters Union. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Worcester, in addition to the Singletary Rod and Gun Club in the city.
He was an avid outdoorsman who used his leisure time with activities such as hunting and tinkering. On the morning of Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., there will be a funeral Mass celebrated at St. Christopher’s Church, which is located at 16 Sturbridge Rd. in Brimfield. On Wednesday, before to the Mass that will be conducted at St. Christopher’s Church, there will be a calling hour held from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. After the funeral, the burial will take place in the Brimfield Cemetery in Brimfield.
