Richard Henthorne Obituary, Death – Richard Calvin Henthorne, who was 88 years old, passed away without any pain or suffering at 3:55 in the morning on Sunday, April 16, 2023, in the Continuing Healthcare of Lisbon. He was the son of Gary and Gwendolyn (Watson) Henthorne, both of whom had passed away prior to his birth. He was born in East Liverpool on August 6, 1934. His parents had both passed away before he was born. A substantial portion of his professional life was spent at NRM in the capacity of machinist. After graduating from Lisbon David Anderson High School with his high school diploma in 1952, he enlisted in the military to further his schooling. Additionally, he was a member of the New Lisbon Presbyterian Church throughout his life.
Over the course of his more than six decades spent as a Boy Scouts of America member, Dick held a variety of leadership positions, including those of scoutmaster, councilman, and camp ranger. The Silver Beaver Award was presented to him as recognition for the valuable service he provided. In addition to being a member of the Lisbon Lions Club and the Salem Hunting Club for the rest of his life, he also volunteered his time to serve on the Lisbon Shade Tree Commission. In addition to that, he was a part of the Salem Hunting Club. All that is left to carry on his legacy are his sons Dennis (Deborah) and Donny Henthorne, both of whom currently live in Lisbon, as well as their seven grandchildren and an uncountable number of great-grandchildren.
His wife Verna Mae (Pennel) Henthorne went away in 2005, and before him, their son Danny also passed away. Both of their deaths occurred in the same year. On Thursday, at 11:00 AM, there will be a funeral service performed at the Weber Funeral Home. The Reverends Stephen Broache and Mark Wilds will preside over the ceremony.
