Robert Haley Obituary, USA, Death – The McBride School of Irish Dance would like to extend our greatest condolences to Patti Martig, The Haley Prendergast School of Irish Dance, Robert Haley’s family, and all of those who loved him. Our sincere condolences go out to everyone who knew and cared about him. Annie had a very close relationship with Robert, and she always looked forward to seeing him at the large competitions and judging feisses that she was assigned to. When Eileen was only a young TC, she first met Robert. Nearly thirty years ago, while they were both walking through a WRO, Robert called out to her and introduced himself to her as a close friend of Annie’s. From the moment you walked into the room, he gave you a broad smile, extended a warm greeting, and made you feel as though you had known each other for a long time already.
When we would run into him again, he would always greet us with that huge grin on his face and a kind heart. If he was preoccupied, give him a wave and a bright smile and wait for him to find you later so that you can catch up. He was someone who was always cheering for other people, who could make you laugh, and who we always looked forward to seeing again. Robert was a wonderful Irish dance instructor who was known for his kindness, warmth, sense of humor, reasonableness, talent, and hard work. He was one of the best.
Our dancers who have had the chance to join their school (while in college), engage with him at his Feis and/or WRO stage, have consistently commented on how kind and helpful he was, as well as how personable and kind he was. Robert left a favorable impression on everyone and gave a sense that they were all significant. On behalf of everyone here at the McBride School, I would like to express our sorrow and sympathies to Robert’s parents and family, the board and instructors of the Western US Region, his many friends and colleagues, his dance partner Patti, his pupils, and everyone else who cared about and loved Robert. Every single one of you, including Robert, is so much on our minds and in our prayers at this time. May you finally rest in peace, Robert. You will leave an indelible mark on our hearts even though they are broken. Soar through the heavens with the angels
