Roly Hanson Obituary, Death – On Friday, June 3, 2022, Roland Trygve “Rollie” Hanson, who was 76 years old and lived in Salem, Wisconsin, passed away. He was the son of Joslyn and Ona (nee Goplin) Hanson, who both passed away, and was born on June 12, 1945 in Vernon County, Wisconsin. Rollie Olson became Rollie’s wife on June 23, 1973, and the ceremony took place in Westby, Wisconsin. Between the years 1966 and 1968, Rollie gave his service to his country in the United States Army, which included a tour of duty in Vietnam. Following his retirement from the American Brass Company, where he had worked for 32 years, he began working part-time at Saint Benedict’s Abbey.
Rollie was very proud of his yard and the landscaping he had done there. He was a kind and giving man who made himself available at all times to assist his neighbors. on his spare time, he enjoyed going out on Hooker Lake on his boat and fishing. The most important thing in the world to Rollie was spending time with his family, particularly his granddaughter Chloe.
Rollie is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ellen; their children, Heath, Timothy, and Katie (John); their granddaughter, Chloe; his siblings, Gloria (Garland) Kolbo, Marlene Buros, Diane Wang, Mike (Rosie) Hanson, Karen Hanson, and Krissy Hanson; as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his three brothers: Roger Hanson, Grant Hanson, and Doug Hanson. His parents and brothers all passed away before him.
Visitation will be held from noon until four in the afternoon, and funeral services will begin at four in the afternoon on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at the Strang Funeral Home located at 1055 Main Street in Antioch, Illinois 60002. Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, Wisconsin is going to be the location of the interment at a later time. To obtain further information, please call (847) 395-4000.
