Shaun Hedican Obituary, Death – The unanticipated passing of Shaun Hedican, an artist, peer, and contemporary who was also a friend, occurred on April 14 at 1:49 p.m. at the Hamilton General Hospital with his family by his side. His passing came as a surprise to everyone who had known him and worked with him throughout his life. Hedican was surrounded by his friends and peers in the artistic community when he died away, and they were all there to pay their respects. Shaun owes his ability to keep a clear head and move through life at a steady pace, both of which he attributes to the fact that he is involved in artistic undertakings. Shaun also attributes his ability to have a level head. Shaun has been able to keep a calm demeanor his entire life.
This trait has served him well. At the group show titled “Converging Lines” that was held at the Thunder Bay Art Gallery in January of 2018, this photograph of Cree Stevens, Kristy Cameron, Shaun, and myself was taken. The show was held in January of 2018. Painting is Cree and Kristy’s medium of choice, and all three of us had pieces of our art on show during the exhibition. You probably weren’t even aware of the full amount of influence that your absence will have on the Indigenous artist community in Thunder Bay, and that impact will be felt in both a positive and a negative way. This impact will be felt regardless of whether you are present or not.
You probably weren’t even aware of the full amount of the impact that your absence will have on the Indigenous arts community in Thunder Bay. This is likely because of the fact that you weren’t even aware of the full extent of the impact. During the most significant event that is taking place today, you and the people who are most important to you are in my thoughts and prayers. I pray that God will bless you. You’ve crushed my heart in so many different ways. I can’t even begin to count them all. Kwaabimin, E
