We are profoundly saddened to have to inform you of the untimely death of Firefighter Steve Whitson, and it is with a heavy heart that we do it at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. During the entire 17 years that Steve worked as a fireman, he was an essential member of the Dive Team for the Division of Fire. Steve’s career in the fire service lasted for a total of 17 years. Steve spent several years working for the fire department, and throughout that time he was stationed at both Station 2 and Station 17 at various times.
Before Steve began working for the Division of Fire, he devoted a significant portion of his career to serving in the Henrico County Sheriff’s Department. Steve is now employed by the Division of Fire. During the course of his combined career in public safety, which he has served the community at large in Henrico County throughout for more than three decades, time has passed more than thirty years. At this time, not only are preparations being made for the funeral services, but also preparations are being made for the viewing that will take place later. In the event that we come across any new information, we will make sure that you have access to it, as well as share it with you, and we will also make sure that you have access to it.
