Ted Forsyth Obituary, Death – It was quite disappointing to learn earlier this week that Mr. Ted Forsyth, a farming legend in the Northeastern United States, had passed away. His passing was earlier this week. When Ted would come this way to either prepare the land for potato planting or check on the progress of potato planting, I would always look forward to getting up with him for a discussion since I knew it would be an opportunity to learn more about the potato planting process.
I shot these three pictures of Ted in November 2020 when he was hacking up some land that had previously been used to grow broccoli in preparation for plowing. After some time has passed, I will upload a film that was shot on the same day and in the same field as the last one. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ted’s son Chris, as well as the rest of Ted’s family and friends, during this trying time. We are very sorry for your loss. Rest in peace mate
Rest in peace Teddy bear, I would want to take this opportunity to thank you for not only imparting your knowledge on the cultivation of potatoes and the preparation of the land, but also for imparting a number of your well-known adages and proverbs, such as “there’s nothing like seeing those yellow wheels go round and round.” You certainly deserve the title of a living legend.
