Victor Young Obituary, Death – The members and friends of the Ballyspallen Cricket Club are inconsolable after learning of the loss of Vic Young Sr. (Purdy). At Ballyspallen, Purdy was an integral part of the community. The only thing that made him happier than reminiscing with other members about some of the amazing match-winning innings he played in his younger days, chatting about football, and giving his opinion on some of the shots that were being played on game days, he enjoyed more than anything. In case of emergency, he would frequently walk about with a rubber duck in his pocket….
Purdy cherished his role as a member of the Ballyspallen family, and the void that will be left by his absence will be felt deeply by all of us.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family circle, and in particular with Mervyn Sr. and Sammy, as well as Vic Jnr. and Mervyn Jnr., who are both active members of the band.
May you finally find rest, Purdy.
At Mullagh House in Limavady on the 12th day of April 2023, the deceased was pronounced dead. A cherished sibling of Samuel and Mervyn. On Saturday, November 15, at 11 a.m., there will be a funeral service held at Browns Funeral Home, which will be followed by burial at the Tamlaghtfinlagan Parish Church burial yard. On Friday evening, from 6 to 7.30 o’clock, the Browns Funeral Home will be open for friends and family to pay their respects. Will be remembered with affection by his family and friends, and they will miss him terribly.
